About the scholarship

The Bootten Bequest Bursaries are intended for students facing financial hardship. You must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident studying your first undergraduate degree. The funds for the Bootten Bequest Bursaries were endowed to Massey University from the estate of the late Mrs C Bootten, for the purpose to provide financial assistance to students to enable those students to complete the study for which they are enrolled. Mr and Mrs Bootten farmed for many years in Eltham, Taranaki.

Entry requirements

You must:

  • be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • be studying full time
  • be enrolled in your first undergraduate degree

Include the following with your application:

  • a personal statement illustrating your financial hardship
  • a budget outlining your annual expenses and any predicted earnings, including other scholarships or bursaries
  • a character reference
