About the scholarship

The Business Excellence Scholarship supports students enrolling in a Massey Business School undergraduate degree by providing tuition fee assistance. This scholarship is for students transitioning from secondary school into a Bachelor of Business or a Bachelor of Accountancy. We're looking for well-rounded students who have proven success in academics and leadership roles.

Entry requirements

You will be:

  • a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • transitioning to Massey University from secondary school
  • intending to enrol full-time (minimum 105 credits) in the first year of a Bachelor of Business or a Bachelor of Accountancy

Applicants should have:

  • attained an NCEA Level 2 Certificate with a merit endorsement or better (or equivalent qualification for non-NCEA applicants)
  • undertaken leadership roles of a school academic or cultural group, or captain of one of the school's sports teams, or undertaken leadership roles within a community group or organisation.

Include the following with your application:

  • transcripts for your secondary school results to date. If you are studying NCEA please attach your School results Summary from the NZQA website at https://secure.nzqa.govt.nz/for-learners/records/login.do
  • a personal statement (maximum one page) on your suitability to receive the Business Excellence Scholarship. Please outline your motivation to study business and your career aspirations as well as your leadership experience with emphasis on the level of responsibility and impact achieved. Involvement with extracurricular and community activities can also be included, along with any personal context including any factors that have demonstrated resilience, barriers which have been overcome or that speak to your leadership potential.
  • a reference letter which speaks to your academic achievements or leadership experience (maximum one page)
