About the scholarship
This scholarship was established to honour the life, legacy, and enduring contributions of Associate Professor Teresia Kieuea Teaiwa, whose scholarship, leadership and generosity helped shape Pacific Studies at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and beyond. It is open to undergraduate students of Pacific Islands descent who are New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, or international students. The scholarship may be applied towards the recipient's tuition fees or accommodation costs in a Te Herenga Waka Hall of Residence, with any remaining funds paid to the recipient as a stipend.
Entry requirements
Applicants must:
- be enrolled or intending to enrol full-time in an undergraduate programme at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington in the year following application
- declare Pacific Studies as their major or joint major
- if a school leaver, have achieved NCEA Level 2 with Merit endorsement at the time of application
- if currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree, have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5 (B average).
