About the scholarship
The NZTR McKenzie Future Leaders Scholarship is a $10,000 award, jointly funded by New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing and former leading racing industry administrator Dean McKenzie. By encouraging the educational pursuits of promising students with a connection to the Thoroughbred racing industry, the Scholarship objective is to widen the pool of talented Administrators and “future leaders” of the industry for the benefit of all participants and the future of the sport.

Entry requirements
Applicants should be recent school leavers and be enrolled in or have received acceptance into an accredited university for the upcoming academic year seeking to undertake a business or law degree. Applicants must be able to establish an existing connection with the New Zealand Thoroughbred Industry in some capacity. This connection may be via community, employment, family, or such as to satisfy the selection panel. Applicants must be legal residents of New Zealand to be eligible for this Scholarship.
