Value <p>Depending on your year of study a successful applicant can be granted the following : - Year 1 education grant for fees and study costs up to $3,000 for a full time equivalent - Year 2 education grant for fees and study costs up to $4,000 for a full time equivalent - Year 3 education grant for fees and study costs up to $5,000 for a full time equivalent - Year 4 and above education grant for fees and study costs up to $7,000 for a full time equivalent</p>
Length <p>You will need to re-apply every year to be eligible for the education grant.</p>

About the scholarship

Waka Kotahi and NX2 have allocated funds for the Ara Tuhono Trust to provide education grants to students who affiliate to the Hokai Nuku members, being Ngati Whatua, Ngati Mauku/Ngati Kauae of Te Uri o Hau, Ngati Rango and Ngati Manuhiri.

We want to create opportunities for members to access learning that delivers on their personal goals and aspirations.The education grants provide financial support for eligible students to attain higher education qualifications at recognised New Zealand tertiary institutions.

How To Apply

You will need to download and complete the application form, then send this and all of the required evidence listed through to the email address on the form.

What you receive

If successful, tuition fees will be paid direct to your education provider or to your student loan account.

Entry requirements

Grants are available to students who affiliate to the Hokai Nuku members, being Ngati Whatua, Ngati Mauku/Ngati Kauae of Te Uri o Hau, Ngati Rango and Ngati Manuhiri and who are studying at a tertiary education institution in New Zealand.

Applicants must also be a registered member of one or more of the following authorities: Ngati Manuhiri Settlement Trust; Te Runanga o Ngati Whatua; or Te Uri o Hau Settlement Trust.
