About the scholarship
The Health Research Council (HRC) funded stipend is to support a student to conduct a PhD study within the HRC funded Auckland Regional Community Stroke study, led by Professor Feigin at the National Institute for Stroke and Applied Neurosciences.
The purpose of the funding is to enhance workforce development for early career research in public health and epidemiology, particularly for Maori or Pacific researchers. The stipend can be utilised towards a programme of study in the area of stroke prevention, burden and stroke outcomes across all domains of health and wellbeing, including ethnic specific research to advance the health of Maori and Pacific peoples. The PhD may employ quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods research.
