Medical Officer Cadet Scheme

This is a salaried medical scholarship programme offered by the New Zealand Army.You will attest into the New Zealand Army at the beginning of your third year of medical school. You will earn a full-time salary during your third to sixth years of medical school and in addition to your studies, undertake a small amount of military training designed to get you used to military life and practices. Upon completion of your academic studies, you must undergo two years of registration at a civilian hospital. You will be on leave without pay from the NZ Defence Force during this period. Upon registration, you will return to the NZ Defence Force and be required to complete one year of service for each year of sponsored study, plus one additional year of service.The value of this scholarship includes all university fees and associated expenses plus a full time salary.
