About the scholarship
This Otatara Trust annual award was established to acknowledge the foundation principal of EIT, John Harré. The Otatara Trust is a charitable trust established in 1977 to encourage continuing education and assist EIT to achieve its role as the premier tertiary provider in Hawke’s Bay. The aim of the award is to assist a student with an impairment/disability* in the transition from study at EIT into employment. The award has a value of $3,000.
How To Apply
Candidates can apply independently or be recommended by EIT staff. The application must include: ¦ The name of the student. ¦ The programme he/she is enrolled in and the expected date of completion. ¦ Evidence demonstrating qualities of determination, motivation and achievement within the context of the disability. ¦ Suggestions about how he/she intends to use the $3,000. These suggestions must clearly assist the student in his/her transition from study at EIT into employment.

Entry requirements
The applicant will: ¦ Be enrolled in, have completed or are near completion of a course of study at EIT studying at the Hawke’s Bay campus. ¦ Be willing and able to take up the award in the year in which it is offered. ¦ Have demonstrated qualities of personal determination, motivation and achievement within the context of their disability
