About the scholarship
The David Johnstone Charitable Trust is offering up to twelve $5,000 scholarships for study at Wintec for students from secondary schools within its designated area in the Waikato- Coromandel Region. These Scholarships were established in 1996 under the provisions of a Charitable Trust formed by the late David Johnstone, a prominent Waikato farmer. The scholarships available to secondary school students for first-year study at the University of Waikato and Wintec.
How To Apply
Nomination forms will be sent to schools in August and must be submitted to Guardian Trust, P O Box 1375, Hamilton not later than at 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday 25 September 2012. Ask at your school regarding these nominations.
Entry requirements
The Trust seeks to select young people who have qualities of character, initiative, enterprise, ingenuity or leadership, with the ability to achieve if given the opportunity. Potential recipients are students who might not otherwise have considered, or whose personal or financial circumstances may have meant that they were not able to consider, proceeding to tertiary education. Those schools are asked to nominate students enrolled in the 2012 year who will commence their study in 2013. For Wintec, scholarships are available for study in any field.
