About the scholarship
Waikato-Tainui people aiming for a career in nursing or midwifery have the opportunity to become recipient of a scholarship at Wintec in 2018 which aims to encourage more Maori into health.
The Dame Te Atairangikaahu Nursing Scholarship, set up in recognition of Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahu’s great leadership and care for the welfare of her people, and to acknowledge Kingi Tuheitia’s reign as Maori King.

Entry requirements
Candidates for the scholarship must be registered on the Waikato-Tainui Tribal Register. Candidates must also be enrolled full-time in one of the above Wintec qualifications
