About the scholarship
Following an open call for expressions of interest, the Royal Society of New Zealand was awarded the bid to develop and operate the Science Media Centre. The New Zealand Science Media Centre was launched to the media on 30 June 2008 and officially opened on 1 July 2008. Active researchers with prior media experience or those likely to encounter media in future will benefit most from the workshop and are encouraged to apply.

Entry requirements
One scholarship covering full course fees is available to a qualifying postgraduate student who shows exceptional promise in the area of science communication. A second scholarship is available for an early career researcher (<5 yrs post PhD).
