About the scholarship
The John Burns Award for Courage and Perseverance is granted to tertiary students living in the Wellington region who have exhibited outstanding qualities of courage and perseverance in the face of adversity, including health, disability and family circumstances.
How To Apply
The award is granted every two years (2018, 2020, 2022) and applications are open from 1 August to 30 September.
Entry requirements
The award is open to students who are…
*living in Wellington City, Hutt City, Kapiti District, Porirua City, Southern Wairarapa, within 60 kilometres of Wellington Central Railway Station *under the age of 23 at the time of selection *studying full-time in New Zealand for their first tertiary qualification in need of financial assistance.
