About the scholarship
In 1985 the Taranaki Nurse Graduates’ Association (TNGA) created an award to provide financial assistance to a student nurse who has successfully completed the first year of the Comprehensive Nursing Programme (Bachelor of Nursing Programme since 1995) at the Western Institute of Technology (WITT) at Taranaki.
Entry requirements
- Applicants must have resided in Taranaki and have completed their secondary education at a Taranaki secondary school. The selection committee may relax this term if the candidate has strong links with Taranaki.
- Applicants must have successfully completed the first year and be entering the second year of study in the Bachelor of Nursing Programme.
- The successful applicant must demonstrate consistent effort and application to his/her studies in achieving the first year courses with A or B passes and a pass in the practicum courses.
- Consideration will also be given to: • The applicant’s financial situation and resources. • The applicant’s character and general conduct. • The applicant’s clinical ability.
