About the scholarship

Our Pacific masters scholarship provides one year of personal support valued at $20,000 for students completing the research component of a master’s degree. Additionally, a $1,000 Tufungatika allowance for mentoring costs and tuition fees is available. Students may come from any discipline, as long as their proposed research links to health and good health outcomes for Pacific peoples.

How To Apply

Firstly, you'll need to register your intention to submit an application for this scholarship. Registration must be completed online via HRC Gateway. Following registration, you'll need to submit a full application online via HRC Gateway using the 2019 Pacific health CDA masters and PhD application form below and then send a hardcopy of this application to the HRC.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, you'll need to be a New Zealand citizen or hold residency in New Zealand, and be of indigenous Pacific descent (you can find our description of Pacific peoples on page 4 of the 2019 Pacific CDA application guidelines below). Usually, successful applicants will be enrolled full-time for a master’s degree, however, we will consider applications from students enrolled part-time. If you haven't yet enrolled for your proposed course of study, but are intending to do so, you can still apply - in this case, any scholarship that you may receive will be conditional on your successful enrolment.
