About the scholarship
The Master of Educational Leadership and the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership programmes cover a range of educational leadership issues in the educational sectors while allowing the educational professional to focus on specific areas of interest. The programmes will expand and enhance the knowledge and professional practice skills of experienced educators and school leaders. These scholarships are offered to teachers and senior leaders from selected Auckland Secondary Schools to study the Master of Educational Leadership at AUT’s South Campus. Principals of the contributing schools may nominate one awardee only (a list of the fifteen contributing schools for study from 2017 forwards can be found in Appendix A of the regulations document).
How To Apply
• Applicants will be employed at a named, contributing selected Auckland school (see Appendix A) and be nominated by their Principal for this scholarship. • Nominated applicants will be invited by their Principal to register in the AUT Scholarship Application/Nomination portal and will be provided with the link to this portal. • Nominated applicants must attach evidence of their Teacher Registration and a brief CV outlining their educational and teaching experience to date.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be nominated on merit by their school; eligible schools are able to nominate one applicant only. Nominated applicants for this scholarship, who will be enrolling for the first time in the Master of Educational Leadership at AUT South Campus, must have demonstrated strong academic achievement in their undergraduate study and have completed one of the following: • A relevant undergraduate degree • A relevant graduate diploma • A relevant professional qualification or professional experienced approved by the AUT Dean of Faculty (or representative) to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. An applicant must have completed the entry requirement with a minimum of a B grade average or higher in papers at Level 7 or equivalent. All applicants must have at least three years of relevant professional experience.
