About the scholarship
The Shirtcliffe Fellowship will assist a New Zealand university graduate to pursue doctoral study at a university in New Zealand or other Commonwealth country.
This fellowship comes from a monetary gift made to the University of New Zealand in 1935 by Sir George Shirtcliffe of Wellington. George wanted to assist students of outstanding ability and character in the continuation of their studies in New Zealand or the Commonwealth.

New Zealand citizens ordinarily resident in New Zealand New Zealand university graduates planning to register or be currently registered as a doctoral candidate at a university in New Zealand or other Commonwealth country.
