Trinity Catholic College

Trinity Catholic College is a modern co-educational Catholic Year 7-13 college in the centre of Dunedin, New Zealand. Until 2023, the school was known as Kavanagh College.

Trinity is multicultural and diverse. We have students from many different backgrounds and run a strong international programme which hosts students from over ten countries. Our international students receive an individualised programme tailored to suit their own personal needs. We are in close contact with homestay families to ensure our students are happy and settled.

We are located in vibrant university city of Dunedin. The school is situated just a 5 minute walk from the CBD, the library, museum, University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic. Our facilities include five science laboratories, a library, gymnasium, dance studio, drama suite, three computer laboratories, engineering workshops and an auditorium and fitness studio.

All Trinity Catholic College students are encouraged to participate fully in the life of the school. Sport and culture form a major part of school activities, for international and kiwi students. Major sports played include netball, basketball, rugby, soccer, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, cricket, skiing, and golf.

We also have many other cultural options that allow students to express their creative and musical skills. There are senior and junior choirs, two orchestras and the opportunity for public speaking and debating. We perform a major dramatic or musical production each year, which is open for all students to be involved in.

In addition to these activities, our students can take part in weekend trips, such as hiking in the mountains, mountain biking, surfing and skiing and there are school camps that may involve horse riding, rock climbing or mountain biking. Living in Otago gives students opportunities to try amazing new things, all right on our doorstep – Where else could a student be up a ski-field within a few hours? Or surfing waves that are a 5 minute drive from school?
