Otago
Otago is a region in the south of the South Island famous for its dramatic landscapes. The main centres in Otago are the city of Dunedin, and the towns of Queenstown, Oamuru and Wanaka. Dunedin is a popular student city for domestic students, home of the country's first university, The University of Otago. One of Otago's main industries is tourism, particularly in the hotspot town of Queenstown, which welcomes over 1 million international tourists a year.
The Otago region is a great location for international students who want to study in an area that has urban hubs that are very student friendly and wanting to explore some of New Zealand's best tourist hotspots.
