What you will learn
- The programme is 34 weeks long and made up of block courses and clinical placements
- Students attend the block courses at WelTec and then do clinical experience in their workplace or elsewhere
- Each student is required to nominate an approved, qualified embalmer who will guide and assist you throughout the clinical experience periods

Entry criteria
You must be working in an embalming role, have at least one year's experience in the embalming industry, nominate an approved clinical supervisor and provide evidence of suitability based on interview.
There are no minimum academic entry requirements for this programme, however, applicants must demonstrate that they have a reasonable likelihood of success.
It is recommended that students have achieved NCEA Level 2 or have the equivalent knowledge and skills.
It is also recommended that you hold a first aid certificate and have current vaccinations as determined by the funeral services industry.
