About the course
This programme aims to create makeup artists with advanced skills in a wide variety of makeup disciplines, as well as a range of complementary skills and supporting business skills. The programme also provides learners with the opportunity to develop an area of special interest. It is ideal for those wanting to gain employment or start a career providing makeup and complementary services. The skills taught are designed to equip graduates with the ability to work as a freelance or contract employee in the cosmetics, fashion or media industries.
Entry requirements
Domestic students: hold NCEA Level 2 or a Level 3 industry-related qualification; be 16 years or older; demonstrate intermediate levels of written and spoken English and numeracy; demonstrate genuine interest in the programme; have no major disabilities (eg neck or back injury) that would make working in the industry impossible. International students: be 18 years or older; if English is a second language, must have an IELTS academic score of 5.5 or higher with no band score lower than 5.0; and possess the appropriate visa.
