This free programme provides students with a solid foundation for getting started in tertiary education.
The programme covers a wide range of topics, from writing essays to managing time as a student. Wintec has some fantastic resources, and we are committed to helping students access them.
This is offered in conjunction with Maanaki Pūkenga. Topics include assignment writing, referencing, using the library and digital resources, how to manage study and time in an academic setting, and much more.

About the provider
Based in Hamilton, the Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec), is one of the country’s largest institutes of technology. We deliver high-quality education across vocational (technical) and professional fields of study to approximately 13,000 students, across over 130 different courses.
At Wintec students are educated in a way that builds their confidence and gets them work-ready.
