About the course

This is a one year Wellington ICT Graduate School Programme delivered by the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Victoria University of Wellington. This Programme has been designed for graduates from non-information technology disciplines, who want to become software developers. Graduates will have the technical knowledge and skills to develop practical software systems, be able to independently learn and use new software technologies and tools, and have the professional and enterprise skills necessary for working effectively in ICT organisations. Graduates will be able to work as programmers/software developers or closely related positions in the IT industry.

Entry requirements

A bachelor's degree with an average grade of B or better in a discipline other than software development, computer science, or related subject, and a basic level of programming skill.

About the provider

The Wellington ICT Graduate School is an initiative developed by Wellington’s three leading tertiary establishments (Victoria University, WelTEC and Whitireia) that seeks to advance and support the development of ICT skill and talent throughout New Zealand. In 2019, five Master’s-level degrees and a Postgraduate Diploma ICT will be taught, developing students in the areas of software development, business analysis, user experience design, information technology and VFX. The Wellington ICT Grad School has a joint industry and academic board and its central team is located in downtown Wellington.
