About the course
On successful completion of the Manukau Institute of Technology Certificate in Social Services (Level 4) a graduate student will be qualified to work under appropriate agency supervision as a volunteer or an employee in a social service agency. They will: 1. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and safely with clients, co workers, groups and organisations with a current knowledge of social service environment; 2. Demonstrate the ability to problem solve, think critically and practise reflectively; 3. Demonstrate the ability to reflect on and address personal issues; 4. Apply knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to self and social services settings in Aotearoa/New Zealand; 5. Be able to pathway on to higher qualifications within the Social Services environment.
