On successful completion of this programme graduates will have:
-The theoretical linguistic knowledge base on which to develop and design lessons and courses specific to the language development of their students
-An understanding of socio-linguistic factors in language development
-The ability to apply theory to their teaching practice
-The skill base to undertake assessment
-The ability to deliver courses and lessons to ensure their students make rapid progress in their language acquisition
-An understanding of the value of feedback and formative and summative assessment
-A working knowledge of the technical resources available to language teachers
