MIT Certificate in Furniture Making (Level 2)
NZQF Level 2

About the course

A graduate of this Furniture making Programme should be able to carry out selected functions and practices of a skilled furniture maker, but at a novice level. The functions of a skilled tradesperson furniture maker range from planning the start-up procedures for projects and dealing with clients, to the completion of projects to a quality standard. The practices of a skilled tradesperson furniture maker range from the accurate operations of selecting materials, cutting, joining, shaping and fitting of furniture components to the requirement to complete projects in an efficient and economic manner and to avoid waste. At the completion of this programme the student can be considered as operating at a novice level in the trade. Substantial supervision is still required.
