About the course

To provide the student both a broad context of contemporary visual arts practise and the opportunity to deepen understanding of a field of the visual arts, which becomes the focus for study. It is studio-orientated which process, knowledge and creative research are synthesised, drawing and contextual studies help to provide this synthesis. It encourages all students to work within their cultural context and to explore other cultures. The programme will prepare students to apply for entry to year 2 of visual/fine arts degree programmes at the discretion of the degree-granting institution.
