About the course
Successful Northland Polytechnic Diploma in Beauty Therapy graduates will be expected to be able to: ? Demonstrate knowledge of or explain the human cardiovascular system, the human endocrine system, cells and tissues, the human integumentary system, the anatomy of the human lymphatic system, the anatomy of the human head, face and neck, the human musculoskeletal system, the human nervous system, the human reproductive system, the human respiratory system, the human digestive system, and the human urinary system as they apply to beauty services, ? Protect health and safety and provide first aid and life support, ? Demonstrate relevant knowledge of chemistry and electricity, ? Perform services that involve depilatory waxing, cosmetics, massage, heat, electrolysis, skin and figure analysis, facial treatments, nail augmentation, manicure and pedicure, ? Operate as an independent operator of beauty services including payments and sales documentation and reception services.
Entry requirements
Entry to this programme is open to people who: are motivated to work in the beauty services industry; and have reached 16 years of age or older prior to enrolment on the programme, unless approved otherwise by the Programme Manager.
