About the course

Successful students will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems; communicate an understanding of, and solutions to, regional, national and global challenges to biodiversity; demonstrate a working knowledge of key environmental legislation and its application; utilise appropriate resources for environmental investigations in a competent and professional manner; apply practical skills to monitor ecosystem dynamics, and analyse comprehend and evaluate the results; process and report on the results of these investigations clearly and concisely; maintain professional, legal and ethical standards, demonstrate safe practice, and take responsibility and pride in their work; and accept responsibility for their own professional development and learning needs.

Entry requirements

14 or more NCEA Level 2 credits in 3 subjects or be over 20 years old and demonstrated ability to succeed on the course.
