About the course

Graduates will be able to: Identify, select and perform configurations to internet technologies; Set-up personal computers to the internet using internet protocols and addresses; Install and configure a web browser and internet proxy and mail server. Apply knowledge of security, copyright and privacy issues associated with the internet; Set-up file server networks under
a mixed environment; Communicate effectively: Effective listening, questioning (both oral and written); non verbal, cross-cultural, presentation and assertive skills. Teamwork: Understand the importance of teamwork, and team-problem solving skills Graduates of this Certificate will have the skills to take up supervised and unsupervised occupations in the workforce in any of the following disciplines: Junior Technical Support person; Junior Helpdesk Liaison person A successful graduate may progress into further study to: Diploma in Computer Servicing (Level 5) (which includes Helpdesk Support); Certificate in Web Technology (Level 6); Certificate in Network Administration (Level 6); Bachelor of Information Technology (Level 7) in networking, software, programming and information security; International Industry Certifications; Digital Media (Level 5)
