About the course

This programme will:
-+Provide a foundation of generic knowledge and skills suitable for entry into the area of network Administration.
-+Enable students to gain the expertise with Microsoft technologies that will help them to develop into technical leaders capable of successfully implementing Microsoft business solutions.
-+Provide a Wellington Institute of Technology certification that is valued in the market place to assist graduates in obtaining a job in the networking area.
-+Prepare students for Microsoft network certification examinations.
-+ Provide a transition path when the 2000 track of the Programme is no longer offered, so that students who do not complete the Programme under the 2000 track may still complete the Programme.
The CiNA and MCSA credentials are for individuals who have the skills to successfully implement a Microsoft product or technology as part of a business solution in an organisation.
Graduates will be professionals who can implement, manage, and, troubleshoot existing network and system environments based on Microsoft Windows platforms.
The industry roles that a graduate will be capable of performing will vary widely, according to the individual?s work experience, and will cover one or more of the following:
-+Help Desk operator.
-+Computer Support technician.
-+Junior Network Administrator.
-+Intermediate Network Administrator.
-+Senior Network Administrator.
Successful graduates are primarily expected to move into or advance within the work force to fill one of the roles listed above.
They will also be in an ideal position to extend their studies and qualifications with:
-+Bachelor of Information Technology (Wellington Institute of Technology).
-+Post-graduate work (if they already possess a degree).
-+MCSE certification.
-+MCDBA certification.
Successful CiNA graduates can gain 40 (unspecified) Level 6 Cross Credits in the Bachelor of Information Technology (Wellington Institute of Technology).
