About the course
Graduates will:
-+have demonstrated a level of professional competency
-+have developed preferred ways of working with clients which are ethical, and client-centred
-+apply appropriate well-researched models to the different presenting clients
-+have a variety of counselling skills based on different theoretical models
-+understand and evaluate the importance of supervision and how to use this effectively in their work
-+have a good understanding of their work community and the variety of services provided by associated agencies and specialists
-+make appropriate referrals (with the client?s consent) when the client?s issue is beyond the graduate?s level of competence of knowledge and experience eg. Psychiatric assessment
-+be committed to on-going training and up skilling
-+be expected to have applied for membership of a professional counselling body.
