About the course

Graduates are contributing to the support of young people in their local communities through working with groups, and mentoring young people in schools, at youth camps, in churches, and as team members in multi-disciplinary social service agencies. They operate ethically and safely from a model of wholistic youth development (Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa), which seeks to engage with the needs of young people and contribute to their physical, emotional, spiritual and social development. This qualification forms the first year of the Diploma in Youth and Community Studies.
