About the course
Grow your career in horticulture
During the length of this programme you will be involved in seasonal production tasks as they relate to the fruit production industry in Tairāwhiti. You will develop your knowledge and skill base which will strengthen your practical application. As a graduate you will be able to undertake such activities as assessing crop health, pruning, irrigation and support structures and effectively communicate within a team.
Your future career and study opportunities
On successful completion you can pursue employment in:
- Contracting
- Pest management
- Fruit production
This qualification builds on the NZ Certificate in Primary Industry Skills (Level 2) and the NZ Certificate in Primary Industry Operational Skills (Level 3). On successful completion of the NZ Certificate in Horticulture (Fruit Production) (Level 3) you may choose to continue with your studies by enrolling in the:
- NZ Certificate in Horticulture Production (Fruit Production) (Level 4)
- NZ Certificate in Sustainable Primary Production (Level 4)
