New Zealand Certificate in Resource Recovery with strands in Composting, Recovery and Recycling, Scrap Metal Recycling, and Solid Waste (with optional strand in Hazardous Waste)

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the resource recovery industry with people who have the skills and knowledge required to work as operators within their particular sector of the resource recovery industry.

Learners will benefit by having a qualification which recognises the skills and knowledge of a competent operator to enable improved job performance and a credential to enhance employment opportunities in the resource recovery industry.

This qualification is suitable for learners who have some prior learning or experience in their sector, such as those who have experience as a processor or site worker.

Graduates will work under limited supervision, and will have the skills and knowledge required to operate machinery relevant to their resource recovery operation. They will be able to work with other processors and operators to handle and process material in the resource recovery workplace relevant to their chosen strand.
