About the course
Graduates from this programme will be able to demonstrate - technical and technological knowledge - aural, oral and written communication skills in both formal and informal styles - social, legal and cultural contextual knowledge and under appropriate supervision be able to: - research, prepare and communicate design and construction documentation for small and medium construction projects - assist in the research, preparation and communication of design and construction documentation for large or complex construction projects - assist with general practice management. It is also intended this diploma programme should inculcate within the students the following characteristics - - commitment to maintaining acceptable standards of delivery in terms of their client, employer, community/society, industry discipline and self. - a commitment to continue their professional development and maintain the currency of their skills and knowledge. Employment opportunities for graduates are with - architectural practices, architectural designers, local authority and government agencies, building contractors and sub-contractors, building suppliers, property development and management companies, and after suitable experience to set up own practice.
