About the course

Students who graduate with the Certificate in Snowsport Instructing (Ski) or (Snowboard) will demonstrate strong physical abilities and have a strong technical understanding of skiing or snowboarding. They will have good life skills and will have the knowledge and ability to teach adults or children to ski or snowboard up to an intermediate level. They will be able to plan and conduct lessons with a sound knowledge of progression, group management and creating fun learning environments. Graduates will have a strong customer service focus and conduct themselves professionally within ski resort environments. The National Certificate in Snowsport (Snowschool) (Level 3) is embedded in the programme and a provision to sit the New Zealand Snowsport Instructors Alliance Certificate in Snowsport Instruction and the Stage I examination has been made available within the programme.
