About the course
The aim of the Bachelor of Culinary Arts programme is to facilitate learning by culinary students in a creative, flexible and collaborative environment within a culture that promotes and supports culinary-driven entrepreneurial opportunities. Graduates will be able to demonstrate professional competency, specialised technical knowledge and conceptual skills and make a valuable contribution to the direction and advancement of the culinary industries in New Zealand. Specifically the programme aims to equip students with the tools, techniques and competence required to work in their chosen career path within the extremely broad field of professional culinary art. The whole model is cognisant of the fact that the culinary industry is becoming more complex and collaborative. Bachelor of Culinary Art graduates need to gain a sound understanding of culinary practices while having a broad understanding of other related specialties.
