Te Taketake - Diploma in Applied Addictions Counselling

The aim of the course is to provide competent and capable addiction counsellors who: wish to develop a career in the addictions field; can attain registered practitioner status with the Drugs and Alcohol Practioners' Association of Aotearoa New Zealand (DAPAANZ); are committed to furthering their knowledge around addiction issues; are committed to increasing their skill base around working with clients who have debilitating addiction issues.

Moana House is a well-established residential therapeutic community for adult male offenders who want to change their lives. Many of our residents may also have a history of alcohol and/or drug abuse. We wish to provide a supportive family environment and a safe place to change.
