About the course
Graduates will achieve practical and theoretical skills in managing and repairing standalone PCs, with an introduction to computer networking, and will be able to; assemble and disassemble a computer; partition and format hard disk drives; install and configure operating systems; support and troubleshoot hardware and operating systems; create a dual boot system; and present for the CompTIA A+ (Certified Computer Technician certification).
Successful students will be able to proceed to the Diploma in Computer Technical and Client Support at Aronui or seek cross credits at another tertiary institution.
Graduates who do not proceed to further study will be able to obtain employment in computer retail, an entry level position on a technical help desk or as an entry level computer technician.
