About the course
Graduates will have the skills to work as a Dental Surgery Assistant, competently and safely assisting a dentist, dental therapist or dental hygienist during oral health care procedures. Graduates will also be able to assist with practice administration.
Training courses are open to NZ Dental Association members, staff employed by NZ Dental Association members, employees of the University of Otago, and employees of the District Health Boards. The NZ Dental Association Executive may choose to increase the eligibility to enrol in the training courses on an ad-hoc basis. Non-eligible persons can make written application for enrolment to the Executive.
