About the course

This qualification is designed for those wishing to work in the industry as installers of fibrous plaster linings and fittings, and provides a means of recognising current competence for those already working in the industry.

Holders of this qualification are able to install and finish fibrous plaster products in interior construction in the workplace at production rates established by industry. Qualification requirements include safe work practices in an on-site environment.

Those wishing to extend their qualification to include specialist fibrous plaster systems construction may add the optional specialist strand to the certificate as an endorsement.

The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation is responsible for other qualifications that have credits in common in the areas of health, safe working practices, handling construction materials, scaffolding and basic tool use, allowing people to move more readily across sectors of the industry.
