About the course
This qualification provides the barbering, beauty and hairdressing sectors with graduates who will understand the requirements and procedures of a salon, and will therefore be more attractive to salon employers than those with no formal training in salon skills. Graduates will be capable of operating at an entry level under general supervision.
This qualification is designed for people who may benefit from the opportunity to re-engage with the learning process, in preparation for entering a salon workplace or undertaking further training towards a salon career. It provides a salon-specific preparation for people who are not yet ready to enrol in a programme leading to a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification, giving them the confidence to continue training and/or seek employment within a salon.
