About the course

This qualification is for managers in competitive manufacturing who have responsibilities for the performance of their people and processes or services. The qualification develops knowledge and skills required to be change agents, and to implement a competitive manufacturing strategy within their organisation.

The qualification is designed to afford the maximum scope for career development within a range of processing industry disciplines that may include; administration, production, and value chain support areas. Training in competitive manufacturing will benefit all manufacturing in New Zealand including dairy, food and related products, furniture, joinery, plastics and materials, printing, seafood, wood manufacturing, and apparel and textile sectors of the manufacturing industry.

The qualification includes Australian competency standards that are part of the Competitive Manufacturing qualifications in the MSA07 Manufacturing training package.

This qualification has been registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in line with the objectives of the Ministerial Declaration of Confidence - ''Mutual Recognition of Vocational Education and Training Qualifications between Australia and New Zealand'' and has been endorsed by the Competitive Manufacturing Consortium in New Zealand.
