About the course
Candidates are required to complete the core standards and most of the electives (choose a minimum of 99 credits from a total pool of 113). Candidates entering the qualification may have already completed some of the standards in the qualification in Gateway or in school programmes. A small amount of flexibility is available to accommodate different provider and workplace requirements, and for candidates to select standards that are specific to the strand that they are interested in (plumbing, gasfitting or drainlaying). A maximum of 23 credits (depending on electives) contribute from this qualification towards any one of the Level 4 National Certificates in Plumbing [Ref: 0202], Gasfitting [Ref: 0201] or Drainlaying [Ref: 0077].
