About the course
This qualification is for people who wish to undertake indentured workplace training towards industry trade certification and registration in watch and clock making.
Graduates of this qualification will benefit New Zealand by ensuring there is a watch and clock making and repair workforce in New Zealand.
Typically, this qualification will be gained over a four year period of indentured workplace training. Graduates of this qualification will be able to operate to industry standards and will meet the requirements for industry trade certification and registration with the Jewellery Industry Registration Board of New Zealand (JIRBNZ).

The Jewellery Industry Registration Board of New Zealand JIRBNZ is an incorporated society that has been formed to represent the Jewellery Industry in New Zealand as a whole.
The JIRBNZ holds and maintains the current list of all that are Registered as Industry Certified as Tradesman Manufacturing Jewellers, Tradesman Watch and Clockmakers, Tradesman Gem Setters and Tradesman Hand Engravers.
