About the course

This national certificate recognises the skills and knowledge of people working in the scrap metal industry.

The compulsory section recognises the skills and knowledge required to work safely in the scrap metal industry.

The qualification structure acknowledges the diversity of scrap metal companies and the nature of the work they undertake. To reflect this, the qualification includes elective sections from which people can select skills and knowledge relevant to a specific workplace.

This qualification builds on the National Certificate in Scrap Metal Recycling (Introductory Skills) [Ref: 1284] and leads to the National Certificate in Scrap Metal Recycling (Nonferrous Purchasing) (Level 5) [Ref: 1286].
