About the course

The National Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Working on Ropes) (Level 4) [Ref: 1017] is designed to recognise the skills and knowledge to enable people to manage industrial rope works in a controlled environment. This national certificate is the second of two qualifications in Industrial Rope Access. It builds on the first, the National Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Elementary Rope Skills) (Level 3) [Ref: 1016].

This qualification aims to:
provide people with the knowledge, skills, and attitude to seek employment in the industrial rope access industry;
develop skills in the safe use of a wide variety of industrial rope access equipment;
develop a wide range of rope techniques;
develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes of health and safety in the workplace;
develop skills for emergency situations.

The qualification recognises knowledge and skills required by an industrial rope worker in a commercial environment.
