About the course
This is an introductory qualification for people entering a career in the floristry industry, and recognises the skills of a junior florist. People credited with the qualification are able to demonstrate fundamental floristry knowledge and skills, under the supervision of a senior florist.
Holders of the qualification are able to demonstrate knowledge of flowering plants and foliage, and the principles and elements of floristry design. They are able to determine customer requirements, deal with complaints and ensure customers receive quality service, and promote the benefits of a range of services to meet the individual requirements of customers; maintain and care for fresh flowers and plants, including sundries and ancillary items; prepare, arrange, and present floristry stock and merchandise; and prepare, wire, assemble, wrap, and package floristry products to a specific design.
The compulsory section of this qualification can contribute to the National Certificate in Floristry (Level 4) with an optional strand in Advanced [Ref: 1151].
