About the course
The MTI Certificate in Companion Animal Services - Cat course aims to give students the basic knowledge and skills in caring for domestic cats to enable them to work as effective and motivated employees within the growing companion animal industry. The course aims to: Provide students with the practical skills to apply species-based understanding and knowledge in servicing the companion animal industry, and a recognised career pathway within the companion animal industry, supported by recognised qualifications. Skill areas include a general knowledge of felines, and the species specific biology and husbandry of the domestic cat. Enhance individual retailer's reputation within the companion animal industry by providing highly competent and knowledgeable staff. Provide a formal measure of a student's skills and knowledge for prospective employers. This will assist employers, employees, and potential employees, with a benchmark for identifying key areas for professional development. The MTI Certificates in Companion Animal Services (CCAS) have been designed in direct response to an identified industry need. The courses have been developed to fill a niche in the area of specialised animal services.
