Certificate in New Zealand Coastal Mariner with International

This Coastal Skippers yachting course offers students the opportunity within New Zealand to complete a Superyacht certificate of competence which is internationally recognised. The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) as the accredited body of the United Kingdoms Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) issue the certificate which the Mahurangi Technical Institute, Warkworth, New Zealand is accredited to deliver. On successful completion of the course a candidate will have the rank of Chief Mate of a yacht up to 500 tonnes operating out to 60 nautical miles from a safe haven. The 6 week course includes 2 weeks at sea as crew and skipper on Mahurangi Technical Institutes training yacht and also is inclusive of the NZ Restricted Radar Observers Certificate.
